Boukunryu(暴君竜 Bōkunryū) is a dinosaur-based Kaijin who appeared in Episode 1 of Spider-Man.

He is voiced by Shōzō Iizuka.

Personality

Boukunryu is a brute Machine BEM who only has violence on his mind as he’ll attack his enemies endlessly until they’re dead.

Appearance

Boukunryu has the head of a dinosaur with a green mechanical body. He has a shield folded up over his head and has a crossbow for the left arm while his right arm has two blades.

Biography

After an empire, called the Iron Cross Army, are alerted of a mechanical ship called Marveller crashing down onto earth, Amazoness heads to the location with an action figure-sized Machine BEM, called Boukenryu, to kill a scientist, named Professor Yamashiro, in order to prevent him from discovering the crashed Marveller. When Professor Yamashiro takes a trip in the woods, Amazoness unleashes Bokunryu, who grows into human size, and kills the Professor. Later, Professor Yamashiro's son, Takuya, became Spider-Man by the original owner of Marveller, Garia, by giving him his Spider Bracelet to avenge his death. After rescuing a captured scientist and fighting off the Ninders, Amazoness summons Bokunryu and has him face against Spider-Man. After a brief fight, Bokunryu suddenly grows into a giant. Spider-Man attempts to fight him but gets tossed away and Boukunryu shoots at him. With Boukunryu too big for Spider-Man to fight, he summons Marveller for the very first time and transforms into Leopardon. Boukunryu shoots at Leopardon while the giant robot approaches, but then Spider-Man uses Arc Turn. Boukryu tried to shield his head from the attack, but the Arc Turn manages to harm him even after striking the shield. Finally, Spider-Man uses Sword Victor and throws the sword at Bokunryu, stabbing him and destroying him for good.

Attributes

• Foldable Helmet Head: Bokunryu has a foldable helmet over his head that he he can use to protect himself or to headbutt into objects.

• Crossbow Arm: On his left arm, Bokunryu has a pendulum-shaped crossbow that can shoot missiles.

• Dual Blade Arm: Boukunryu is equipped with two blades taking place for his right hand. However, he is hardly shown using it during combat.

• Size Change: Boukunryu has the ability to change his size at will.

Trivia

• It is possible that Boukunryu may be the very first human-sized Kaijin to be able to grow into a giant in tokusatsu history.

• Boukunryu’s name translates to “Tyrant Dragon”.
